PyPile – A free lateral pile analysis program

We are pleased to announce the first release of PyPile 0.1.0. PyPile is a free lateral pile analysis program.

Apart from its ordinary functions available in other software in the market, PyPile comes with some unique functions:

  1. Users can implement custom p-y curve with JavaScript.
  2. Users can customized output Excel charts.
  3. Soil profile with pile sketch can be exported to PNG or SVG image.

  1. Looks interesting. I tried a simple example and managed to get a result but a user guide or at least a list of references would be a big help.

  3. Installed the software but cannot run it and get the message ” api-ms-win-core-rtslsupport-l1-2-0.dll is missing. try reinstalling the program to fix this problem”. Tried reinstalling and I got the same message

        • If your OS is Win 7 or 8.1, please keep your system updated. After you install vc_redis.x86 for VS 2015 and delete msvcp140.dll and vcruntime140.dll, what’s the error message when you run PyPile?

          • I have the same problem. I have the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 x86 installed (perhpaps the problem is that I have more versions installed together, x64-2015, 2008, 2005… but I think I need them for other software/programs, no problems before with this subject).
            I have change the name of the files you mention, and when I run PyPile no message appears, and it doesn’t work (no window is shown, neither program working behind).
            Thank you for your support, we are interested in test your software.

          • other versions of c++ Redistributables should not cause the problem. You may want to try on different computers.
            The basic cause of this error is the program tries to call a function in an incompatible library, which is introduced by Microsoft somehow.

    • According to ANALYSIS OF SINGLE PILES UNDER LATERAL LOADING by Barry J. Heyer and Lymon C. Reese, the initial modulus of the p-y curve for sand is E_si = kx, x is the depth. Please refer to the book by Heyer and Reese to get a value range.
      PyPile 0.6.0 is coming soon. With 0.6.0, users will be able to see the illustration graph of the p-y curve and suggested values on the user interface. API Sand will also be available in 0.6.

    I have a small confusion regarding computational analysis.Is Matlock -Reese method based on FDM or Non Dimensional method?
